Introducing Ray Tracing LASIK

ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE BOCHNER EYE INSTITUTE

We will be the first laser and eye centre in North America to offer Ray Tracing LASIK, an advanced form of LASIK that can achieve a level of precision never seen before. This procedure uses over 100,000 data points to create a 3D model of your eye, called an ‘eyevatar’, allowing your surgeon to simulate the surgery and optimize the laser ablation profile for each individual eye, leading to more predictable and superior outcomes.

The Ray Tracing Difference

Unlike traditional LASIK, which focuses primarily on reshaping the cornea to improve vision, Ray Tracing LASIK takes the overall shape of the eye – the cornea, the lens, the retina and the eye chamber – into account. The surgeon then uses the extremely precise and accurate model of the eye to simulate the surgery and refine the treatment plan to deliver an optimal outcome for each individual eye.

Ray Tracing technology integrates three advanced diagnostic devices into one system: computerized tomography for assessing both the anterior and posterior cornea, wavefront imaging to analyze intraocular aberrations, and axial length measurement. Using this data, specialized software objectively determines refractive error and designs a personalized corneal treatment plan.

No two eyes are the same, and with Ray Tracing LASIK no two surgeries are the same.
